Northern Ireland captain Marissa Callaghan will participate in this afternoon’s press conference.

Earlier in the day, the Irish FA informed journalists that Callaghan would not attend the pre-match conference, a duty that is usually undertaken by the captain. Sarah McFadden was drafted in to replace the skipper.

This sparked fears that the injury-plagued midfielder may not play in tomorrow’s historic Euro 2022 clash with Norway at St Mary’s stadium.

Now, Callaghan has been reinstated by the Irish FA and will attend this afternoon’s press conference.

Callaghan was pictured in a protective boot six weeks ago, but the IFA immediately played down concerns stating that it was simply a precaution and there were no fears surrounding her availability for the finals.

She hasn’t played any competitive football since mid-May and while included in the squad for the pre-tournaments friendly in Belgium, Callaghan didn’t appear in the match day squad.
