It's a rock bottom finish for Australian golden boys

Australian side Gold Coast Academy's week at the Dale Farm Milk Cup started with an 11-0 loss and ended with the wooden spoon. They were hammered by Manchester United on the first day of the Milk Cup and yesterday they lost 3-1 to County Tyrone in the bottom placed game.

At the other end of the scale, CSKA Moscow claimed third place in the Premier Section with a 7-0 win over Partick Thistle.

Club America won the Globe competition by beat Zambian outfit Lusaka 3-1 and Espanyol won the Vase by beating Benfica 2-1 in an Iberian derby.

Chertanovo completed a miserable week for Newcastle United by beating them 2-0 in the Bowl final.

John Bailie's County Down left the North Coast with a smile.

They beat League of Ireland side Bohemians 1-0 in the Salver final. and there was also some success for Fermanagh, who beat Otago 1-0 in the Shield decider.

In the Junior section, Plymouth Argyle claimed third place by beating Chilean side O'Higgins 2-0 .

In the Globe final Brentford brought Southampton's winning streak to an end by winning 4-0.

Earlier in the tournament Rangers beat Liverpool 2-0, but the Merseyside club gained revenge in the Globe third placed play-off, by winning 1-0.

Middlesbrough won the Vase competition by beating Watford 2-0. County Down's campaign ended when they lost 4-3 to Motherwell in the Bowl final and Swindon Town claimed the Salver by beating last year's Milk Cup winners Everton 3-1.

Londonderry won the Shield by beating Global Premier Soccer on penalties and County Armagh beat Sydney United on penalties in the final of the Medallion.
