League One side bid for Northern Ireland striker Will Grigg: report
Sunderland have reportedly made a bid for Wigan Athletic and Northern Ireland striker Will Grigg.
Grigg, who fired the Latics to promotion from League One with 19 goals last season, has found opportunities limited at the DW Stadium this term.
The striker has scored four goals in 10 starts this season and also earned a recall to the Northern Ireland squad as he scored a late consolation goal against Bosnia & Herzegovina in a 2-1 defeat at Windsor Park.
Sky Sports have reported that the Black Cats have offered Grigg a fresh start as they look to repeat Wigan's promotion to the Championship. Sunderland are currently third in League One, a point behind Luton but with a game in hand.
Should Grigg move to Wearside, he will join Northern Ireland team-mate Tom Flanagan as well as Republic of Ireland defender Jimmy Dunne, who has completed a loan move from Burnley.
