McGinn to get his chance for Northern Ireland

Niall McGinn will play at Windsor Park tonight, 18-months after missing out on an appearance at the international stadium.

Northern Ireland manager Nigel Worthington has confirmed that the Derry City winger will win his first Northern Ireland cap against Hungary — and that will make up for the disappointment of not making the Dungannon Swifts team for the Irish Cup final against Linfield in May 2007.

“Niall McGinn is going to get his first international cap,” said Worthington.

“I am going to make it a great week for him after being named Young Player of the Year and ahead of a cup final at the weekend.”

Steve Davis looks almost certain to miss tonight’s game.
