Neville proud as Lionesses reach last 16
England Women's boss Phil Neville saluted his players after they secured a place in the last 16 of the World Cup last night.
Jodie Taylor's second-half finish earned a 1-0 win against Argentina in Le Havre and the Lionesses will now head into their final Group D game against Japan in Nice on Wednesday looking to cement top spot in the pool.
"I thought we were outstanding - the speed of our play against a team that was always going to be difficult to play against," said Neville whose side missed a first-half penalty when Vanina Correa foiled Nikita Parris.
"I'm so proud of them," he said.
"Four days ago I was critical but I'm proud of every single one of them tonight."
