Northern Ireland forward joins Lincoln on season-long loan deal
Northern Ireland international Shay McCartan has signed a season long loan deal at League Two side Lincoln City.
The 24-year-old forward, who can be recalled, made 29 appearances for parent club Bradford City last season, scoring four goals.
McCartan who played for Glenavon before moving to Burnley in 2011 signed for League One Bradford last summer for a fee reported to be £200,000 on a three-year deal.
He struggled to hold down a regular place in the first-team at Valley Parade, starting just 13 league matches. It was reported that he would have left on loan in January had the Bantams completed a deal to sign then Chesterfield striker Kristian Dennis, who joined Notts County earlier this summer.
McCartan was called up to the Northern Ireland senior side for the friendlies against Panama and Costa Rica, playing in the latter, having earned his first cap against New Zealand in June last year.
He joins up with last season's Checkatrade Trophy winners as Danny Cowley has singled him out as the number 10 he was searching for.
