Northern Ireland forward Paul Smyth linked with loan move to end QPR frustration
Portsmouth are being linked with a loan move for Northern Ireland youngster Paul Smyth.
The forward has fallen out of favour with new Queens Park Rangers boss Steve McClaren and could be set to depart Loftus Road after just one start so far this season.
Smyth impressed after breaking into the QPR squad last season following a move from Linfield, he bagged two goals for the club in 14 games.
The 20-year-old made his Northern Ireland debut in March, scoring the winning goal in a 2-1 victory over South Korea.
Now he could be set for a move to Fratton Park in an attempt to get more first team football under his belt this year.
Smyth was named QPR's Young Player of the Year last season and will want to build on that success ahead of Northern Ireland's Euro 2020 qualifying campaign.
