Northern Ireland to travel for 'glamour' friendly against Albania

Northern Ireland fans were promised a lucrative spring friendly — and the Irish FA have delivered a trip to Albania!

IFA President Ramond Kennedy last month stated that he would announce a glamour money-making clash to offset the £400,000 payout to Howard Wells.

Supporters will therefore be dismayed at the prospect of facing one of the most unattractive teams in Europe on March 3, with no money for the IFA to show for it.

“We always try to get a game that will give us something financially, but it’s not always possible,” said Kennedy today.
