Ballymena United have confirmed the arrival of striker Joe McCready on a two-and-a-half year deal from Institute.
The 29-year-old, who has scored seven goals in 19 Danske Bank Premiership games for the north west club this season, moves for an undisclosed fee.
With speculation continuing to mount over the future of Ballymena striker Adam Lecky, who is the subject of a £60,000 bid from Glentoran, McCready's arrival bolsters David Jeffrey's attacking options.
"We're pleased to be able to announce that Joseph has agreed terms to join the club following positive negotiations with Institute FC," commented manager Jeffrey.
"He is a player who we have been looking at for some time, but particularly over the last 18 months his performances have impressed ourselves, with both Paul McAreavey and Joe McCall having watched him closely.
"We followed the proper processes and submitted a request to Institute to meet with him and we were able to come to an agreement to bring him to the Showgrounds now.
"We are absolutely delighted and very much look forward to working with him."
Mixed emotions leaving my first club, a decision I couldnât pass up to work with an Irish league great. Had an unbelievable time last year and this year. Iâd like to thank everyone Iâve worked with and Iâm sure Iâll be back someday. Thanks for everything @Institute_FC 💙 pic.twitter.com/i3Beg8JfFY— Joe (@Joemccready10) January 29, 2020
Meanwhile, Dungannon Swifts have made a double signing with the arrivals of striker Guillaume Keke from Carrick Rangers and defender Francis Brennan from Loughgall.
Keke is an experienced Irish League forward having had spells with Cliftonville, Larne, Ards and Carrick and will strengthen manager Kris Lindsay's options up front.
Brennan, meanwhile, is a familiar face at Stangmore Park having only left the club in July 2017, and returns after bouncing between Portadown, Carrick, Knockbreda and Loughgall.
“I’m delighted to get both Keke and Fra on board. They both bring a wealth of experience with them having both played in the league for a number of years," commented manager Lindsay.
The Swifts also confirmed their captaincy situation, with Dougie Wilson taking the armband for the remainder of the season after Seanan Clucas left to join Glentoran. Kris Lowe has also been named vice-captain.
Elsewhere, Glentoran have announced that striker Antonio Duric has departed the club to sign for an unnamed club in Sweden.
The 21-year-old Croatian scored one goal in just four appearances for the Glens after joining in the summer from NK Jarun Zagreb.
