Cliftonville midfielder Niall Grace has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a broken and dislocated elbow.

The on-loan Glenavon star got the injury after landing heavily following a challenge in the 20th minute of last night's 5-3 play-off semi-final victory over Coleraine at Solitude.

Grace has found a new lease of life since joining the Reds in the January transfer window after losing his place at the Lurgan Blues, making seven appearances of which six were starts.

"It’s bad news for us but it’s also bad news for Niall to have had his season ended like that," said manager Paddy McLaughlin.

"It was the way he landed rather than the challenge itself. There was no intent or malice in it, he just came down on his arm and, unfortunately, he hasn’t been able to continue.

"Hopefully he can get back on the road to recovery soon and I know everyone at Cliftonville wishes him all the best."
