Kearney joy as Coleraine land Burns

By Alex Mills

Coleraine have moved quickly to snap up Aaron Burns from Linfield after the attacking midfielder snubbed the opportunity of full-time football with English League Two outfit Crawley Town.

Burns, who was told earlier this month by Blues boss David Healy that he would not be offered a new contract at Windsor Park, was a shock transfer target for Harry Kewell's Crawley but the move fell through when the 25-year-old delayed his decision for 'family reasons'.

Bannsiders boss Oran Kearney, whose side clash with the Blues tonight, has been monitoring Burns since he was placed on the transfer list and is thrilled to have won the battle for his services.

Kearney said: "I know there was interest from England, so it was important for Aaron to take his time and make a decision he wouldn't regret. I'm delighted to get the deal done."
