Crusaders still have eyes on Europe

Ballymena United may have one eye on an Irish Cup semi-final date with Portadown but Crusaders still have a league target to hit.

The Crues welcome the Sky Blues to Seaview this evening (7.45) still facing a fight to secure a top four place and the reward of climbing onto the European stage again.

Manager Stephen Baxter welcomes back key men Colin Coates, Eamon Doherty and Aaron Black to his squad.

“We enjoyed our run last year in Europe so it would be nice to have another charge at it and see where it takes us,” said Baxter.

“But when you lose players like Colin Coates and Chris Morrow it is a huge blow while David Rainey has been on the bench for us while not 100 per cent fit, so that tells you about the type of character he is. When you have people like Ross Arthurs and Jordan Owens who are willing workers and young boys learning the game, it is good to see and when they score goals it lifts their confidence.”
