Linfield banking on miracle to halt Crusaders title charge: David Healy

By Alex Mills

Linfield boss David Healy believes it will take a minor miracle to prevent Crusaders lifting the Danske Bank Premiership title.

The Shore Road boys pulled 10 points clear at the top after their win over Carrick Rangers on Saturday and, ahead of his side's clash with Cliftonville tonight, Healy said: "With no disrespect to Carrick Rangers, I never expected them to glean any joy at the weekend. Crusaders were still smarting from their Irish Cup defeat against us, so they had something to prove.

"Apart from ourselves, few teams have left Seaview with any joy, so it was no surprise that we go into the Cliftonville game 10 points behind.

"I've said it before, but it's going to take an almighty collapse to prevent Crusaders from retaining their title. There are only seven games left, so it would mean they would have to lose three. The reality is it's in their hands."
