David Healy: Lennon will relish Celtic challenge

I wrote a while back that the Scottish Premier League title race was over.

If anyone didn’t believe me then, I think they will now after Celtic’s 4-0 defeat at St Mirren in midweek.

Rangers might have been knocked out of the Scottish Cup at Dundee United on the same night ending their hopes of a treble, but I’ll bet the pain of that defeat was eased when their fans heard the Celtic result.

No disrespect to St Mirren, but Celtic should not be losing 4-0 to them. In fact a club of Celtic’s stature should not lose 4-0 to anyone.

I don’t like to see managers lose jobs, but Tony Mowbray had little chance of staying after that.

My old Northern Ireland team-mate Neil Lennon is taking temporary charge. Lenny will relish the challenge. It’s a big one for him.
