Dungannon Swifts delighted as they land Sean McCashin

Dungannon Swifts beat the clock to sign former Northern Ireland under-21 international Sean McCashin.

The Swifts have handed McCashin a short-term deal until the end of the season, with the option of a further 12 months after signing him from Belfast Telegraph Championship 2 club Chimney Corner.

"Sean has come in for the rest of the season, but the incentive is there for him to earn a longer contract," said Swifts manager Darren Murphy.

"It's a good deal for us and we are thankful to Chimney Corner manager Stephen Hatfield for how co-operative he was in helping us complete the move before the deadline."

The deal for McCashin follows on from the Swifts signing Jamie Tomelty, Gary Liggett, Marc Brolly and German goalkeeper Berraat Turker during the transfer window.

Elsewhere Cliftonville have allowed reserve team striker Johnny McMurray to go on loan to Championship side Larne.

Former Glenavon goalkeeper David O'Hare has signed for Carrick Rangers.
