Dungannon Swifts manager Robinson fears familiar faces

By Adrian Rutherford

Dixie Robinson has warned Dungannon Swifts to be wary of the Ex-Factor when they visit Coleraine tomorrow.

The Tyrone men will be up against some familiar faces with David Scullion and Ryan McIlmoyle in contention to feature against their old club.

Both were important players during their time at Stangmore Park — and Robinson admits they could cause Dungannon big headaches.

“The two boys playing out wide are both ex-Dungannon players, and no doubt they will be out to prove a point this weekend,” he said. “They are both good players and we will need to keep a close eye on them.

“But there is quality throughout this Coleraine team. They have great firepower in their forward line with Leon Knight, Curtis Allen and Shane Jennings.”

Robinson is hoping his side can finally find some form against the top clubs. So far Swifts’ have secured just one draw from 10 league games against last season’s top five — the sole point coming in a 0-0 draw against Coleraine on the opening day of the new campaign.

“That is one aspect we are definitely looking to improve,” Robinson added.

“While it is vital to win matches against the teams around us, we need to be picking up points against some of the bigger clubs.

“We can’t rely on the teams around us providing the points which will keep us in this league.”

Dungannon will be without PJ Lavery, who suffered a leg break during the Mid-Ulster Cup win against Annagh United.
