Currie is ready to rebuild as Ports shift focus to promotion challenge
Dungannon Swifts 2 Portadown 0
Portadown said goodbye to top-flight football with defeat at Dungannon Swifts - and a promise from Niall Currie that better times lie ahead.
After goals from Terry Fitzpatrick and Chris Hegarty earned the hosts victory, Currie insisted it will be a very different side that targets promotion.
"We are going to change the whole dynamic of the club," he said. "We've got our supporters behind us now, a new board coming in, new sponsors coming in, and I have to do my job now.
"That means rebuilding from bottom to top - and there will be a lot of changes.
"A lot of people will be out the door, a lot of people will be coming in and we'll try our very best to get the right characters.
"The kids have come in and have been fantastic. They are the light at the end of the tunnel for me."
