A stoppage time goal from Brandon Doyle saw Warrenpoint pile the misery on bottom side Dungannon Swifts.
He scrambled the ball home from close range, moments after seeing his penalty saved.
It was a dramatic ending to a game that for so long was a forgettable affair.
The Swifts, who have now lost for the 27th time this season, edged the chances but paid for a late lapse in concentration.
As the game entered the 90th minute, Matty Smyth was penalised for tripping Ryan Swan, with the referee pointing to the spot.
Goalkeeper Roy Carroll guessed correctly, turning away Doyle's kick, but Luke Gallagher kept the play alive and the ball was scrambled home by Doyle.
The Swifts had the better of the first half chances.
In the 16th minute they broke quickly from a Warrenpoint corner, with Oisin Smyth feeding Ryan Mayse, whose low shot was blocked.
However, Mayse was forced off soon afterwards after taking a knock from a foul that saw Daniel Byrne booked.
His replacement, James Convie, had an immediate chance after Mark Patton's free-kick was headed on, but his strike was deflected wide.
Dungannon sought to pass and probe, but too often their final ball was lacking.
Warrenpoint went close six minutes after the restart when Kealan Dillon played in Swan, but goalkeeper Roy Carroll got there first and deflected it behind.
Then some neat play between Dillon and Ball led to a chance for Doyle. He opted to hit it first time but it was well over.
There was a referee change in the 63rd minute after Diarmuid Harrigan pulled up with a knock, with fourth official Steven Gregg taking his place.
As the game finally began to open up late on, the Swifts had two quick chances, with Coyle and the Patton shooting over.
It seemed the game was set to finish scoreless - until the late penalty drama.
