Terry Fitzpatrick has retired after a long career with Dungannon Swifts.

Terry Fitzpatrick could scarcely have signed off his playing career in more fitting fashion.

The 35-year-old brought down the curtain on a career spenty solely with Dungannon Swifts by bagging the winner for his 'first love in football' from the penalty spot in injury-time.

Michael McLellan bagged the opening goal of the day, firing Ards into an early lead as they looked to leapfrog their visitors into eighth spot.

But Mark Patton levelled before the break and Jarlaith O'Rouke had the visitors ahead shortly after the restart.

Adam Brown then levelled and Jonny Frazer but Ards back in front in the topsy-turvy tie.

And when Rhyss Campbell levelled, the stage as clear for Fitzpatrick to win it with one of his last kicks for the club.
