Glens determined to get firing once again after dip in form, Kane vows
Marcus Kane says he's determined to steady the Glentoran ship after agreeing a new contract extension until the end of the 2019-2020 season.
Kane's new deal is a welcome boost ahead of today's trip to Dungannon Swifts (5.30pm), with Rodney McAree's boys eager to hit back after losing 2-1 at Carrick Rangers last weekend.
"I'm delighted to agree the new deal and get tied down for the two years, it's good security for my family and hopefully in the months ahead I can improve as a player and the team will become stronger too," said Kane who has made 180 appearances for the Glens.
"We flew out of the traps this season and were good in the first five matches but we accept that recent performances haven't been good enough.
"There is a determination and focus to put things right. We have been underperforming and must play a lot better.
"We know we are capable of doing that," he added.
