Glentoran midfielder Navid Nasseri says his side's never-say-die attitude will keep them in the Danske Bank Premiership title race.

The Glens extended their unbeaten league run to 12 matches with a 2-0 win over Ballymena United and Mick McDermott's men are now level on points with second-placed Linfield and Coleraine.

Robbie McDaid's strike opened the scoring and super sub Nasseri secured the points in injury-time.

The east Belfast side are now within striking distance of top spot and Nasseri is confident they can stay among the chasing pack.

"After the effort and energy we put into the Linfield game on Boxing Day, it was vital we got another three points, it shows that this team has a lot of character," said the former Gillingham player.

"It was another big win, it's been a good 48 hours for the club.

"We may have left it late, but we always have belief. We have plenty of talent in the squad and the goals can come from anywhere. We just keep believing. We have a never-say-die attitude that will always pay off."
