Glentoran’s two-goal hero Robbie McDaid admitted that Championship side Dergview had given his team a real fright in the first round of the Samuel Gelston’s Whiskey Irish Cup at a sodden Darragh Park on Saturday.

McDaid, returning after being sidelined by Covid-19, struck twice in the first half to give Mick McDermott’s Glens a comfortable half-time lead.
