Glentoran's trip to Newry called off afternoon pitch inspection
Glentoran's Danske Bank Premiership game at Newry City on Friday has been called off following a pitch inspection.
Kick-off had been scheduled for 7.45pm but due to inclement weather conditions the game is off.
The game had originally been due to take place on December 22 but was called off after a road crash involving match officials.
It was rescheduled for tonight after both clubs exited the Irish Cup in the third round last month.
Glentoran are in ninth place in the table, 11 points ahead of second-bottom Newry but just two points off seventh-placed Institute, having played a game less.
"Going to Newry will be really tough. They are definitely a better team at home," said Glentoran boss Smyth.
"But for us it is a winnable match in hand. It's up to us to cement seventh and if anything happens higher up the table so be it."
