Ludogorets 7-0 Crusaders

Crusaders were dumped 7-0 by Ludogorets in the Champions League first qualifying round first leg on Wednesday evening.

Stephen Baxter's side were 2-0 down at the break before a late collapse added insult to injury against the team who drew with Liverpool in the group stage back in 2014.

Marcelinho opened the scoring for the hosts before Rodney Brown scored an own goal.

Claudiu Keseru increased the hosts' advantage after half-time and Marcelinho's second of the evening made it four.

The Crues' did mount a bid for a consolation but summer signing from Ballymena Kyle Owens first saw a header cleared off the line then nodded another chance wide.

And then any chance of making the second leg a competitive affair went out the window as the hosts ran away with three late goals, two from Jacub Swerczok.

Crusaders host the second leg at Seaview on Tuesday evening (July 17) at 8pm.

The Crues will drop into the Europa League once their Champions League campaign comes to an end.
