Crusaders will go into the Danske Bank Premiership split on top of the table, largely thanks to Paul Heatley, while Ballymena United will play in the top six.

That's after the Crues' smashed Warrenpoint Town 4-1 in a rout that included a Heatley hat-trick and Matthew Shevlin's brace saw Ballymena to a 2-0 win over Ballinamallard.

Paul Heatley's hat-trick sent the Crues back on top, two clear of Coleraine.

The winger, who now has 18 league goals for the season, opened the scoring to put the Crues' one up at the break. Darren Murray made it two shortly after the restart and Heatley then profited from smart build-up by Jamie Glackin before scoring a header to seal his hat-trick. TJ Murray netted a late consolation for the hosts.

Matthew Shevlin's brace helped David Jeffrey's Ballymena seal their spot in the top six, pipping Glentoran by two points.

Young striker Shevlin was rewarded for lively play with the opening goal just five minutes in and did well to bag the second shortly after, using pace and strength in a powerful run before slotting home.
