Irish League Round Up: Kane cracker helps Glentoran draw at Linfield as top two win again

It's as you were at the top of the Premiership while Glentoran and Linfield drew 1-1 at Windsor Park.

Linfield 1-1 Glentoran

Marcus Kane put the Glens ahead with this spectacular effort early on but Robbie Garrett headed the hosts level on 52.

Crusaders 3-0 Dungannon Swifts

The league leaders got back to winning ways thanks to a Gavin Whyte double to add to an early Colin Coates goal. The Crues remain two clear of Coleraine.

Ards 1-3 Coleraine

That's because Oran Kearney's Bannsiders had few difficulties getting past Ards.

Jamie McGonigle and Brad Lyons had them two clear by eight minutes. A Ross Clarke free-kick pulled one back but a McGonigle penalty made the points safe.

Glenavon 0-0 Ballinamallard

Third-placed Glenavon failed to stretch further ahead of Linfield, held at home by the basement Mallards. Glenavon remain four clear of Linfield as Ballinamallard claw to within six of Carrick.

Carrick Rangers 0-0 Cliftonville

And that's after Rangers were edged out by the Reds, thanks to Joe Gormley's goal. Cliftonville are now four behind Linfield with a game in hand.

Ballymena United 1-3 Warrenpoint Town

Stephen McDonnell, Town's new 25-year-old boss, began with a win. His side had gone behind to Johnny McMurray's opener but after Tony Kane's penalty was saved by Jonathan Parr, the keeper's side kicked on.

Sean Mackle levelled from the spot, Anto Reilly put the visitors ahead and Alan O'Sullivan made the points safe.
