Oran Kearney has warned his Coleraine players that Dungannon Swifts are in ‘a false position’ as he prepares to take on one of the Carling Premiership’s form teams tonight (7.45pm).
The Swifts have won all three of their games so far this month and not only will they want to finish February with a 100 per cent record, their defence will also be chasing a fourth successive clean sheet.
And now six points off the bottom of the table and edging closer to safety, they are starting to play with freedom under recently appointed head coach Darren Murphy.
“Given the quality they have in their squad now, they’re probably in a bit of a false position in the table and it’s going to be a really tough match,” said Kearney.
“Dungannon have had a very good month, they have had two wins on the bounce now, kept a few clean sheets and are probably in their best form of the season.
“They’ve signed well in January bringing in players like the Friars brothers, Ryan Harpur, Marc Brolly and JP Gallagher as well.”
Dungannon Swifts are throwing the turnstiles open tonight and admitting supporters to the game for free.
The gesture comes after the original meeting had to be postponed due to a floodlight failure at Stangmore Park.
