Larne have beaten Linfield to the signing of Northern Ireland Under-21 international Conor Mitchell.
As revealed in Monday's Belfast Telegraph, the Inver Park side were able to offer the former Burnley stopper a more attractive contract.
Mitchell, who will compete with Conor Devlin for the number one jersey, finished last season on loan at Linfield.
"I knew I wasn't going to be at Burnley any more and had a few options on the table, but spoke to (manager) Tiernan (Lynch) and was really drawn into this project - and the pull of full-time football was a big thing," said Mitchell.
"I've seen what Larne are doing and it's great for the Irish League and great for the town. I'm buzzing to be a part of it.
"I've trained with the squad and felt like I fitted in right away, they're a great bunch.
"I have kept myself ticking over during the summer as I wanted to be ready to get going once things were agreed."
Boss Lynch added: "If we're to make this journey successful then we need to bring quality players to the club."
Larne's first pre-season friendly is at Inver Park this Saturday against Crumlin United (3pm).
Meanwhile, Northern Ireland Under-21 goalkeeper Conor Brennan has extended his stay at Scottish League One side Dumbarton.
The former Ballymena United shot-stopper joined Dumbarton from Brechin City midway through last season.
In the Airtricity Premier League, Ciaran Coll has signed a one-year contract extension with Derry City while Junior Ogedi-Uzokwe has extended his loan from Colchester until the end of the season.
