Larne have completed the Danske Bank Premiership's first transfer deadline day deal by signing midfielder John Herron from Glentoran.
The move had been expected and marks the Inver Park club's third signing of the month, after Dundalk defender Dean Jarvis and Linfield's Andrew Mitchell both joined.
Herron, 25, played for Celtic, Blackpool and Raith Rovers, with loan spells at Cowdenbeath and Dunfermline, before moving to the Oval in 2018.
He was a key player for the club last season, starting 31 league games and has also started 16 Premiership matches this season.
The move would seem to leave Mick McDermott's title-chasing Glens short on midfield options, especially if Hrvoje Plum's knee injury is confirmed as cruciate ligament damage.
Nonetheless, Larne boss Tiernan Lynch is delighted to land his man.
“John is a player we have been tracking for a while now,” he said.
“He is a lad who is going to add real quality and real experience to the team. He trained with us today and he fitted right in.
“We talk a lot about culture and bringing the right person to the club and John fits the bill. He’s a lad who wants to get on the ball and play and he’s been hugely impressed with how we play.”
