The Irish League transfer window is ticking into its final week but if the rest is anything like the last 24 hours, the drama is only just getting started.
Amid the chatter of Glentoran's £60k offers for Joe Gormley and Adam Lecky, Larne have sealed the signing of Linfield midfielder Andrew Mitchell.
The Inver Park club are set to announce the 27-year-old's arrival in time to make a potential debut against his former club on Tuesday evening.
Mitchell has been at Linfield for two-and-a-half seasons, making over 70 appearances and scoring six goals.
His last strike for the club could scarcely have been more important as he tucked home a penalty in a narrow 2-1 win over Cliftonville at Solitude earlier this month.
Mitchell also provided the corner for Mark Stafford's winner that evening and it's the danger of his set-pieces that are his stand-out attribute.
Although Linfield drew 0-0 with Dungannon in what will prove to be Mitchell's last game for the club, it was through his dead-ball deliveries that the Blues looked most like scoring.
Mitchell began his senior career at Rangers and also played for Annan Athletic and Southport before returning home to sign for Crusaders.
Larne have already added Dundalk defender Dean Jarvis to their panel this month as they look to bridge the 12 point gap to the title-challenging top five.
