Linfield draw Dundee United in Scottish Challenge Cup as Crusaders also on the road
Linfield and Crusaders both face trips to Scotland in the last 16 of the Irn Bru Cup.
The Blues will travel to take on Dundee United, who are currently fourth in the Scottish Championship. United have won nine of their 11 competitive games so far this season, beaten only by local rivals Dundee and St Mirren. They boast the likes of former Celtic and Middlesbrough forward Scott McDonald in their ranks.
Meanwhile, Crusaders will go to take on Highland League side Cove Rangers. Cove are top of their division, the fifth tier of Scottish football, having won six and drawn one of their league games so far this season. They beat Hamilton U20s in the previous round.
The games will be played on the weekend of October 7/8.
Linfield saw off Lowland League side Spartans 2-1 in the second round thanks to goals from new signing Louis Rooney and Stephen Lowry.
Crusaders relied on two late, late strikes from Billy Joe Burns to seal a dramatic 3-2 win over Motherwell U20s at Seaview. Philip Lowry had given the Crues the lead but the visitors netted twice to reverse the scores before Burns' late heroics.
