All you need to know about the loan-signing Linfield will get from QPR in return for Paul Smyth
And watch Brandon Adams lash home a half-volley from outside the box
Linfield will bring in a 21 year-old striker on loan as part of Paul Smyth's move to QPR.
Linfield's 19 year-old forward Smyth is expected to confirm his move to the Championship side this week and the transfer will see Brandon Adams move the other way on a season-long loan. That's on top of the fee agreed between the two clubs, of course.
Adams joins Louis Rooney at Linfield after the Blues confirmed the signing of the Northern Ireland Under 21 international striker last week. So just who is their new loan-signing?
What do we know about Brandon Adams?
Linfield boss David Healy has confirmed that QPR will pay Adams' wages for the duration of the loan so, in Healy's words, "it’s a free one to have a look at."
Adams is 19 years-old and has had an eventful 2017. He spent the first half of the year on loan across the globe, playing his football in Malaysia. He was signed by Persatuan Bola Sepak Perlis after he signed his first professional deal with QPR in January.
Before his Malaysian move, he had a stint with Staines Town in the Ryman League.
At the start of his career, he had unsuccessful trials with Tottenham and Norwich City before joining QPR but once he found a club, he made it into a list of 'three hidden gems' at QPR, according to footballleagueworld.co.uk.
Adams is described in that article as being "known for his composure in front of goal".
Have a look at some evidence of that at 47 seconds into this video:
And we'll leave you with one bonus piece of useless information: His middle name is Lea.
