Linfield on the rise after weathering a storm
Linfield have jumped into the top six of the Danske Bank Premiership after defeating Carrick Rangers 3-0 at the Loughshore Hotel Arena last night.
The Blues, who have three games in hand on leaders Crusaders following their exertions in Europe, were under the cosh for large periods of the first half but Niall Quinn scored a sublime solo goal on the stroke of half-time to give David Healy's men a 1-0 interval lead.
Linfield were a greater force in the second half, and sealed victory through a Reece Neale own goal and Mark Stafford header.
