The Northern Ireland Football League (NIFL) has confirmed that the New Year's Big Two derby will be shown live on Sky Sports.

The fixture between Linfield and Glentoran at Windsor Park will be shown live as Sky Sports' fourth game of the season, kicking off the New Year with a bang.

The tie will be held on Monday, January 28 with a 7.45pm kick-off.

January's meeting will be the third between the two sides this season, with Linfield edging the two games earlier this season.

Michael O'Connor's strike settled their league clash in October, which was also shown on Sky Sports, before the Blues won their County Antrim Shield battle 2-1 in extra time.

Linfield are currently second in the table, two points behind league leaders Ballymena United, while Glentoran are seventh, five points off the pace for a coveted top-six spot.
