Former Lisburn Distillery hitman Curtis Allen scored twice as Coleraine came from behind to win at New Grosvenor.
Gary Liggett had fired the Whites ahead but the Bannsiders responded to take the spoils through Allen’s brace — the first of which came thanks to an horrendous blunder from home keeper Billy Brennan — and Ryan McIlmoyle’s late finish.
“To go in 1-0 down at half-time was disappointing after we had dominated for 45 minutes,” said Allen. “I have been frustrated the last couple of weeks going through games with no luck and no chances but I have just kept plugging away and it came today.”
Distillery boss Tommy Wright said: “We didn't show up and got exactly what we deserved out of the game — nothing. At half-time we had something to hold onto — it's disappointing. Billy makes a mistake, but the reaction to Billy's mistake was probably as bad as his mistake was because we didn't recover. We used that as an excuse to go and be inept for the next 40 minutes. The players really have to knuckle down and work harder. We have conceded 34 goals and that is an embarrassment to the club.”
