Lurgan Blues dispatch Highlanders
Formartine United 0 Glenavon 3
Glenavon will look to breathe fresh life into their domestic campaign after a 3-0 success over Formartine United in the Tunnock's Caramel Wafer Challenge Cup.
Gary Hamilton's side cruised into tomorrow's fourth round draw courtesy of goals from Josh Daniels, Rhys Marshall and Conor McCloskey at North Lodge Park.
After a sticky start to the Danske Bank Premiership programme which earned only one win in five outings, Hamilton was looking for a victory which could spark his side into life this season.
Daniels opened the scoring from close range against the Highland League side on 12 minutes and Marshall's header from an Aaron Harmon delivery made it two on with 20 minutes to play. McCloskey made sure of Glenavon's progress with a late strike.
The next round of fixtures are scheduled to take place on the weekend of October 13/14, while Ballymena United's third-round fixture against Rangers Colts is pencilled in for September 18.
