Lynch demands that Larne stay on full throttle after Cup stroll

Larne 6-1 Dundela

By Paul Burrows

Larne boss Tiernan Lynch says his players have even more in the tank after confidently disposing of Dundela on Saturday.

The Invermen made light work of their Tennent's Irish Cup sixth round opponents, clocking up six goals en route to booking a quarter-final trip to face Ballymena United.

Matty Henry, Davy McDaid, David Scullion, Martin Donnelly and Thomas Stewart had Larne five goals to the good before the interval, with Donnelly's second-half free kick extending their advantage further before former Glentoran defender Jay Magee pulled one back for the Duns.

"The difference between the two sides was that we were very much clinical in what we did," said Lynch.

"Believe it or not, even at 5-0, we had a bit of a go at the players for certain things at half-time.

"With the personnel and professionalism of the people we have at this club, we know there will be goals in there and some of their play today was fantastic.

"And the longer we're together, the more our match fitness increases. I feel this side can get better and better."
