Newry City must keep winning to stay ahead of Ards, insists boss
Warrenpoint Town 2-4 Newry City
From December to March, Newry City failed to win a league game and struggled to hit the net. April has been a different story.
They have claimed two victories out of two and scored SEVEN goals. Darren Mullen's men are finding form in what has become a compelling relegation battle with Ards.
Earlier in the month they overcame Ards to jump above them in the table and on Saturday moved three points clear of Warren Feeney's side with a thrilling 4-2 victory Warrenpoint Town.
The visitors were 4-0 up after just 32 minutes thanks to goals from Karl Moody and Dara Noonan and a brace from the excellent John Boyle.
After the break Warrenpoint fought back with goals from impressive substitute Joshua Lynch and Danny Wallace.
Town weren't helped by two red cards for Seanna Foster and Hernany Macedo Marques.
"The players have been trying hard all season. Even with our results there has never been a point when the boys have stopped playing," said Mullen.

"We have got to try and win our last three games though because I believe Ards will pick up points."
