Portadown’s 10-point plan

Ronnie McFall still has his sights on a top six finish in the Carling Premiership after adding further strength to his squad.

The Ports may be 10 points away from the upper half of the table, but Shamrock Park boss McFall has set his players the challenge of fighting it out with the title contenders in the final weeks of the season, rather than those battling relegation.

“We have to try to make it into the top six because that is where everyone wants to be playing their football and we’ve signed players with that in mind,” he said.

Debutant duo Garry Breen — ex-Dundalk — and Brian Gartland, who was signed from Monaghan United, are expected to form the central defensive partnership for the Ports against Coleraine tomorrow.

McFall has a lenghty list of suspensions , with Chris Ramsey and Kevin Braniff already banned for tomorrow’s game — Braniff is also out of Tuesday’s meeting with Lisburn Distillery — before David Miskelly and Shane McCabe were sent-off last weekend.
