Coleraine 0 Dungannon Swifts 3: Coleraine were booed off at the end of a lack-lustre performance against Dungannon Swifts at the Showgrounds last night.
Swifts ended a five-game winless sequence at Ballycastle Road as Dixie Robinson’s men inflicted a second defeat on their North West opponents in four days.
Timmy Adamson and Dermot McCaffrey’s struck in the first-half before Mickey Ward’s second-half penalty sealed Coleraine’s fate.
It was no surprise that it was Adamson who made the breakthrough. Johnny Topley released Ward on the left and Adamson rose highest to head his cross into the net after 29 minutes.
A wonder strike from McCaffrey four minutes later underpinned the visitors’ supremacy as he struck a sensational curling, left-foot free kick past Gavin Cullen.
It got worse for David Platt’s men on 57 minutes when David Ogilby fouled Adamson inside the penalty area and Ward sent Cullen the wrong way from the spot.
