Scollay strikes to seal historic Newington win as Linfield Swifts beaten in Christmas Day cup final

Padraig Scollay netted the vital goal to help Newington to a 1-0 win over Linfield Swifts in this morning's Steel and Sons Cup final.

The Premier Intermediate League side earned the victory with a late goal, eight minutes from time at Seaview.

It's the first time the club has won the trophy with its historic Christmas Day cup final, denying the Swifts their 11th success in the competition.
