Down Area Winter Football League round-up, February 27

In the Premier Division, last year's champions Brentwood had the opportunity to cement their third place position, but fifth-placed Vision Athletic had other ideas, as they turned in a great performance to earn the points in a 4-1 win.

Comber Young Men then had the opportunity to close the gap on Brentwood, but ended up falling short against sixth-placed Oakfield, so outside the top two spots, it's hard to call and everything to play for. Result of the day fell to basement club Comber Star, who earned their first point of the season in a 1-1 draw with Newtown Forest.

In Division 1, Agape continued their impressive unbeaten run as, for the second week running, they eased past Carrowdore YM, this time with an 8-1 victory. Ballygowan kept their own challenge going, as they disposed of Ards Rangers III 5-1 to move into second place. In the battle between the bottom two teams, it was Bryansburn Rangers III who came out top, as they eased past Willowfield Parish 5-0 to move off the bottom.

In Division 2A, there was a seven-goal thriller between Agape II and Brentwood II, with Brentwood claiming the points in a 4-3 win to move into second place. Corrymeela II coasted to a 5-1 win over Comber Star II.

In Division 2B, Comber YM II continued their recent good form and retained top spot, but were pushed all the way by Ballygowan II in a 2-0 win.

In the Tommy Murphy Memorial Shield, 43rd Dundonald eased through to the next round, following a 3-1 win over 3rd Bangor II.
