Down Area Winter Football League round-up, September 5
In the Premier Division, Greenwell Star and Moat Park Rangers maintained their impressive 100% starts to the season with Greenwell winning 6-1 at home to 3rd Bangor and Moat Park winning 5-1 away to Vision Athletic.
Corrymeela moved into 3rd position courtesy of a 6-1 home win again bottom club Comber Star, who are still waiting to earn their first points of the season. After last week's defeat, defending champions Brentwood got back to winning ways with a 3-0 home win against Newtown Forest.
In Division 1, it's Clonduff who continue to set the early pace and maintain their 100% record with a 7-0 home win over Queens Grads III, which was Queen's first defeat of the season, closely followed by fellow undefeated teams Ballygowan, who were held to a 2-2 draw away to Shorts III and Agape, who won 4-0 away to second from bottom Bryansburn Rangers III. 43rd Dundonald picked up their first win of the new season with a 4-1 home win against Willowfield Parish.
In Division 2A, Greenwell II started off their campaign with a resounding 6-1 win away to Newtown Forest II with near rivals Brentwood II earning a 3-0 win away to 3rd Bangor II. Newly-promoted Comber Star II started life in 2A with a 2-1 home defeat to Corrymeela II and defending champions Moat Park Rangers II started their campaign off with a close 1-0 home victory over North Down II.
In Division 2B, Abbey V IV started the new season with a 3-0 home win over new team Newtownards RBL II and there were wins also for Ballygowan II, who won 3-2 at home to 43rd Dundonald II and 8th OB II, who won 4-3 away to Oakfield Breda II.
