Fermanagh & Western League round-up October 19

The Coca Cola Irish Junior Cup took centre stage at the weekend, with Fermanagh and Western league sides enjoying a good day.

Strathroy Harps are chasing a third title in a row and they experienced little difficulty in advancing to the next round when hammering Limavady Rugby Club 9-1 away from home. Teague scored a hat-trick for the holders with Tony Quinn getting a brace and player-manager Seamus Fanthorpe also on target in the rout.

Lisbellaw United faced a tough trip away to Lurgan side Hill Street but they managed to edge the verdict, with Alan Veitch getting the only goal of the game three minutes from time. Division 1 league champions Enniskillen Town United hammered Orangefield OB III at home, with Darren McQuade and Frank Wallace notching four goals each, with Gary Lynch and Ciaran Beacom scoring a brace apiece, and Ryan Hanna also getting his name on the scoresheet.

Callum Funston scored for NFC Kesh, but they lost 2-1 at Glenbryn YM while goals from Martin Doherty (2), Ronan Cox, Jason Love, Bartley Clancy and Mark Burns saw Erne Rovers overcome local rivals Ardstraw Reserves 6-3.

Derrychara United beat Tullymore Swifts 2-1 with goals from Ciaran McBrien and Lee Glass, Tummery Athletic edged past Donemana 2-1, while Enniskillen Santos won the all-local clash with Strule United 3-0.

Enniskillen Rangers were 2-1 winners at Magheraveely, while Orchard Farm went down 4-0 away to Coagh United Rangers. Killen Rangers were 5-1 victors over Suffolk while Drumquin United came out on top by the odd goal in five away to FC Ballynure.

In the league, goals from Kevin Curran, Andrew Copeland (2), Matthew Morrison, Simon Douglas and Conor Beggan saw Lisnaskea Rovers beat Dergview Reserves 6-0 in Division 1.

In Division 2, Maguiresbridge won 3-1 at Irvinestown Wanderers while goals from Rodney Hillen and Jonathan Barrett saw Augher Stars collect the three points at home to Mountjoy United Reserves in the only Division 3 fixture played.
