Murray's happy with life after hitting winner for Warrenpoint
Warrenpoint Town 1 Ards 0
Darren Murray is enjoying life at Warrenpoint.
The striker is back in the Premiership with Matthew Tipton's newly-promoted side following a brief spell at Crumlin Star after his departure from Cliftonville. And he's back scoring goals too. Three in the first three games of the season - he has scored all of Warrenpoint's goals - including the winner in Saturday's victory at home to Ards.
The three points were a welcome boost for Murray and his side after losing to Glenavon on the opening day before a morale-sapping 5-0 hammering by Crusaders.
"It's always good to get off the mark. Last Saturday against Glenavon was disappointing, getting back the two goals and then conceding the late one. Then the Crues result in midweek was a tough one to take, so it's nice to bounce back at the end of the week and get a good win under us," said Murray.
'Duzzle' smashed home the only goal of the game just after the hour mark, firing through a crowd of players from the edge of the box. Ards should have taken a point in the last minute though when substitute Carl McComb somehow managed to lift the ball over the bar.
"I feel fit and I know I'll score goals, so it's just a matter of getting chances and putting them away, so hopefully that continues," added Murray. "It's always nice when you catch one like that."
