Watch: Larne announce signing of former Cliftonville goalkeeper and 'real winner' Conor Devlin

By Josh Bunting

Larne have announced the signing of goalkeeper Conor Devlin.

His four year stint at Cliftonville ended last summer after he picked up two league winning medals. That spell was hampered by shoulder injuries but Devlin will be hoping those are behind him as he prepares for his debut for the Inver Park side away to Loughgall tomorrow (Saturday).

Larne manager Tiernan Lynch confirmed the deal on the club’s Twitter account on Friday morning.

“I need to add he’s former Northern Ireland, Manchester United and Cliftonville," said the boss.

“I’d say without a shadow of a doubt that on his day Conor is the best goalkeeper in the Premiership let alone the Championship. We had to put a lot of hard work into him.

"He's a fabulous lad. He came into training this week and I've never seen anybody work any harder. He's brought a real sense of presence to training. You can tell in everything he does that he's a real winner.

"In a training match he had two centre-halves by the throat at one stage but it made people stand up and notice."

Larne, of course, last week announced their decision to accept an investment proposal from Purple Bricks co-founder Kenny Bruce.
