Senior men’s football clubs in Northern Ireland are set for a major cut in their financial government windfall — should the £36m sub-regional money eventually come through.

Teams in the Danske Bank Premiership have been waiting over a decade for a cash injection from the Northern Ireland Executive with Glentoran proposed to receive £10m to upgrade The Oval and those clubs capable of hosting fixtures with a 5,000 capacity sharing a pot of £17m.
