Neymar puts end to Real rumours by declaring commitment to PSG
Neymar has ruled out a summer transfer to Real Madrid and reaffirmed his commitment to Paris Saint-Germain, who he joined from Barcelona last summer in a world-record £200m deal.
There has been growing speculation in Spain that Neymar is agitating for a return to La Liga, but the 26-year-old, who is currently on holiday after the World Cup, has denied that is the case.
"I'll stay," he said. "I have a contract with PSG and I've chosen to be there for the challenge, for new things and higher goals. I won't change my mind. I hope we can have a successful season, with new silverware too. The press enjoy creating rumours, but everyone knows how much I care about PSG."
Earlier this month, Television Espanola (TVE), a state-owned public service broadcaster in Spain, claimed that a deal worth £274.4m had been agreed between Real and PSG for Neymar's transfer.
However, the Champions League winners moved quickly to deny the speculation, releasing an official statement to deny the existence of any such deal.
