Northern Ireland international striker Simone Magill has claimed the Dixie Dean Everton Ladies player of the year award.

The 24-year-old was on target in both Everton’s Merseyside derby victories in December and struck decisively again in a 3-2 success against Reading last month.

“I am delighted to receive this award,” she said.

“It has been a challenging year but we want to build on how we have finished this season going into next season.”

She appeared in the 2014 FA Women's Cup final and became a regular source of goals for Andy Spence's side.

However, injury saw her miss much of the 2016 WSL campaign but she returned in style a year later in the Spring Series, notching five goals in seven games

Magill stills hold the record for quickest international goal when she struck inside 11 seconds against Georgia in a UEFA Euro 2017 qualifier.
