Pep Guardiola’s Champions League career in numbers

The Manchester City manager has won the competition twice but will have to wait for a third.

Pep Guardiola was sent to the stand as his Manchester City side were knocked out 5-1 on aggregate by Liverpool in the Champions League quarter-finals.

Here, Press Association Sport looks at Guardiola’s Champions League record as a manager in numbers:

2 – times Guardiola has won the tournament, with Barcelona in 2009 and 2011.

5 – he has reached five other semi-finals, two with Barca and three in as many seasons with Bayern Munich.

1 – only once before has Guardiola’s run been ended by English opposition, when Chelsea defeated Barca in the 2012 semi-final.

104 – games managed in the tournament, excluding qualifying rounds, placing him fifth on the all-time list. Only Sir Alex Ferguson, Arsene Wenger, Carlo Ancelotti and Jose Mourinho have managed more Champions League games.

60.2 – Guardiola’s winning percentage in Europe’s elite competition.
